Vacation Rentals Web Directory

VRWD.com LogoA Fort Laterdale, FL website claims to be first of it’s kind. The website is a men-edited web directory of websites featuring vacation rentals. Press release announcing the launch of the website promises better search engine rankings and a quality referrals.

Unfortunately part of the claim is unsubstantiated and cannot be verified since the website itself has no solid rankings in the search engines as of yet. It is also questionable how some of the search engines may react to “sponsored” listings and whether or not those will have any effect on the search result rankings. Google has been cracking down on the websites that sell and buy links for quiet some time.

The website currently offers three different listings:

  • Sponsored Listing at $80 per year- with this listing you can list your website in additional categories for additional $40 per category.

  • Premium Listing will set you back $60- additional categories $30 per year

  • Basic Listing is FREE but only allows to list a website in one single category.

  1. There are sooo many vacation rental sites out there. I recently found a new one I like. I haven’t signed up yet but I think their selling pitch is that it doesn’t cost anything to list the home. You only pay dues once your rental is rented out. Great idea.

  2. Actually, I think it is a great site for vacation home owners like myself because they allow me to insert a listing very quickly and just point it to an existing listing I have on another portal (this means I don’t have to waist 1 hour creating a new listing and uploading photos). Also, it is nice that I can use the Trusted Seal to promote my home.

  3. Yeah…But if you get backlinks from high PR sites, then you are getting links from 'authority' and they are aged, mature sites. the higher the PR the better for me!
