On Saturdays I will be posting much lighter articles and will be sharing what is know as “link love” with other websites and blogs. If you have interesting and real estate related blog e-mail me and I may feature it in one of my Saturday posts.

Today I would like to bring to your attention two different online forums I am a member of:

Real Estate Webmasters Community- I have just recently discovered this forum but I am already very impressed with the amount of great information that can be found there. Whether you have a design questions or need some advise about your pay per click advertising you can find answers to your problem there. Great community and support. Highly recommend for real estate agents and real estate webmasters.
Real Estate Forums- I have joined this community back in 2006. Great place for real estate agents to exchange their experience. While they have few forums that are dedicated to subjects like advertising and search engine optimization, I think this forum is more geared to wards non technical part of real estate profession.

Fizber.com, a real estate website that provides "for sale by owner" services has recently introduced new feature where a seller can upload an audio file with narrative description of their properties.

From the press release:

“Some sellers are simply more comfortable describing their property verbally than having to compose a well-written description,” says Antony Fizber, CEO. “And with an audio file, the passion they have for the property will be heard by the buyer. It’s several steps up from overused exclamation points – too many sellers do this to show their excitement in a written description, but it tends to turn the reader off. Hearing a real person’s voice can contribute to the appeal of a place, too; it can really serve as the first connective step between buyer and seller.”

Vacation Rentals Web Directory

A Fort Laterdale, FL website claims to be first of it’s kind. The website is a men-edited web directory of websites featuring vacation rentals. Press release announcing the launch of the website promises better search engine rankings and a quality referrals.

Unfortunately part of the claim is unsubstantiated and cannot be verified since the website itself has no solid rankings in the search engines as of yet. It is also questionable how some of the search engines may react to “sponsored” listings and whether or not those will have any effect on the search result rankings. Google has been cracking down on the websites that sell and buy links for quiet some time.

The website currently offers three different listings:

Sponsored Listing at $80 per year- with this listing you can list your website in additional categories for additional $40 per category.
Premium Listing will set you back $60- additional categories $30 per year
Basic Listing is FREE but only allows to list a website in one single category.

If you are a real estate agent and you still think that blogging is only for the teenage generation that spends way to much time on websites like MySpace- think again! Or even better, follow the example of Realtor.com!

Realtor.com has introduced an addition to their website just over one month ago. Any guesses what that addition is? A WordPress powered blog- The Official Blog of the Realtor.com Blog Community! Coincidently there is a small video tutorial Realtor Talk today that will teach you how to write a blog post.
