You really need to spend time to truly get to know it. There is however another plugin, a less complicated one http://thomas.stachl.me/plugins/wordpress-gallery-slideshow/ - this one uses the WordPress' native media setup yet it integrates JW Image Rotator- give that a try you might like it. Regardless, it is one of the niftiest tools you can use to give your blog a professional look, one that few others seem to be using.
