Don't forget the Google local results are displayed right on the top of the page, below the PPC and above the organic searches. I have a few websites that are #1 position in the organic listings and still get clicked on more from the local listings.

Yeah, Helen you are way off. If you know anyone with an Iphone, google local is the only results that are displayed. It's a great tool.

Vlad, the problem with Google Local is that…..it doesn't make any difference. It doesn't help you to get on first positions or simply increase your rankings. And ask if anyone had ever used Google locals to find services or products…

As a matter of fact my friend at http://thechocolatebelles.com/ had seen an increase of calls and "foot traffic" when people looking for a very specific terms "wedding cakes in NJ" or "cake decorating classes in NJ".
